GRADUATE OF ARCHITECTURE | ZEN ARCHITECTS | 2019 -
At Zen Architect's Madeleine has focussed her career on sustainable design. Madeleine's role at Zen Architects has included working collaboratively as part of a design team on all stages of project design and delivery.
GRADUATE OF ARCHITECTURE | SJB ARCHITECTS | 2017 - 2019

Madeleine was promoted to the position of Graduate of Architecture at SJB from her previous role of Architect's Assistant. At SJB Madeleine has worked on multi residential and hotel projects ranging from 100-540 units in size. Madeleine's primary role was to assist the senior project architect in project design development, management and administrative related tasks. Towards the end end of her time at SJB this included being promoted to second in charge on multiple projects and leading the interior documentation and construction administration on a 20 level multi-residential building.

ARCHITECT'S ASSISTANT | SJB ARCHITECTS | 2016 - 2017

 

Madeleine was promoted to the position of Architect's Assistant at SJB from her previous role of Office Assistant. At SJB Madeleine has worked on multi residential and hotel projects ranging from 100-540 units in size. Madeleine's primary role is to assist the senior project architect in project design development, management and administrative related tasks.

OFFICE ASSISTANT | SJB ARCHITECTS | 2015 

Madeleine was employed as the Office Assistant and Relief Receptionist at SJB, a large 90 person design firm, for 11 months before being promoted to the role of Architect's Assistant. The primary objective of the Office Assistant role was to ensure that the office ran smoothly and efficiently by providing general assistance to architectural staff and the receptionist. The position broadened Madeleine's knowledge of architectural office operations and practice. The office Assistant's role involved:

  • Managing the architecture trade library and product presentations.

  • Managing the archiving project

  • Ordering supplies for the print room and kitchen.

  • Serving lunch, tea and coffee for meetings.

  • Relieving the receptionist

  • Providing general assistance such as printing, filing, scanning and researching.

  • Providing assistance in uploading, registering and transmitting documents on Aconex.

 

 

STUDENT ARCHITECT | TECTURA ARCHITECTS | 2014 - 2015

 

Tectura Architects is a medium sized architecture firm specialising in health and education projects. At Tectura Madeleine's primary role was to assist the project architects in architectural drafting (AutoCad), project presentations (Photoshop and InDesign), product specification, design standards and building regulations. This experience improved Madeleine's skills and knowledge of architectural practice and her ability to work as part of a design team.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER | AUSTRALIAN MEDICAL EDUCATOR NETWORK | 2011 & 2013

 

This volunteer position required the production of logos, posters, pamphlets and t-shirts for the production ‘GP the Musical.’ GP the Musical premiered at the medical conference for General Practitioners in 2011 and was performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2013. These designs can be found in 'Projects' along with other volunteer graphic design work.

 

 

STUDENT MENTOR | THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE | 2013

 

The student mentor position for the School of Land and Environment at the University of Melbourne involved coordinating and managing a student competition in a volunteer capacity. Job responsibilities included: organizing and coordinating weekly meetings, designing promotional materials such as posters, flyers and a webpage, judging the competition entries and presenting at an awards ceremony.

Madeleine has over eight years’ experience in hospitality in various capacities. Skills which she gained from her experience include the ability to work well in teams under pressure, commnicate clearly and manage time effectively.
